Lewis Hamilton is very close to his brother, Nicolas, who was unfortunately born with cerebral palsy
Lewis Hamilton took to social media to thank Mercedes for their incredibly kind gesture towards his brother, Nicolas Hamilton. The Mercedes driver did not hesitate to share the special moment with his fans on Instagram as it was a dream come true for his brother. Nicolas Hamilton was born with cerebral palsy and at 18 months old, the family was told that he could not walk – but Mercedes did make it possible for him to get a simulated experience of how it feels to drive an F1 car!
The Mercedes team made the modifications in the simulator so that Hamilton’s brother could feel the sensation of driving an F1 car. The seven-time World Champion thanked his team for making it happen and wrote: “Earlier this year @nicolashamilton and I asked my team if we could make this day happen and here we are. Time in the sim is incredibly rare, and not something that is accessible for someone like my brother.” “It took custom modifications to the seat, steering wheel, and pedals to make this possible. He spent the whole day in it and is the first disabled person to ever do so. He’s always been a fighter and seeing him have this day is an honor”, he added.
Let us take a look at some of the reactions from fans on Twitter.
“I am in Africa, with very few possibilities and opportunities to make children with disabilities happy even for an hour. so congratulations to you and lots of love to your brother”, wrote a fan.
“Both of you are greatest! Both are super ! Both are fantastic”, tweeted another fan.

Another fan wrote: “Beautiful. So positive and inspiring.”
