Fans picked the greatest F1 driver to have just only one race win in their entire Formula One career
Fans are gearing up for the new F1 season to begin and the buildup is getting more exciting on social media. All the teams have revealed their final drivers’ line-ups and their cars and it’s a matter of time before the lights go out at the Bahrain International Circuit on March 5. Until the action begins, fans are keeping themselves with various F1-related fun activities, trivia and discussions on social media platforms.
Sky Sports F1’s official handle on Twitter are doing their bit to hype up the build-up. They put out an interesting tweet asking fans to make their pick: “The greatest F1 driver to have only won one race is __________.” The tweet received interesting responses from fans on social media. While some names were pretty common, there were a few very unique choices besides the humorous ones of course.

“Jarno Trulli based on the overall career if Kubica didn’t have his accident, he was about to sign for Ferrari”, wrote a fan.
“Francois Cevert who was poised to take over lead driver from SJYS at Tyrrell but was killed at Watkins Glen was probably the greatest 1 win wonder. Robert Kubica a lost talent. Alessandro Nannini was blindingly quick as well before he lost an arm in a heli crash”, tweeted another fan.
“Alesi or Kubica – certainly feels like Alesi won more races than he actually did. Maldonado’s one win somehow seems the most memorable though”, read a tweet.
“No question Jean Alesi, because there are so many ‘what might have been’ stories attached to him”, commented another fan. Alesi and Kubica seemed to be the more popular and common choices in general.
