Max Verstappen has reacted to the white livery ahead of Turkish GP 2021
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has reacted to the special Red Bull Honda livery for the Turkish GP. The F1 driver’s championship contender was certainly impressed by his team’s work to pull of a special look for the upcoming Turkish GP. Verstappen posted the video of unveiling of the special livery on his Instagram (@maxverstappen1):
Verstappen is certainly excited to race in this special car as are the fans to see this car in action. This will only be used at the Turkish GP 2021 and not at the races ahead.
Why do Red Bull and Honda have a special livery for the Turkish GP?
Ahead of the Turkish GP both Red Bull and their partners Honda announced that they will be using a special livery at Istanbul. The reason for it happens to be the departure of Honda from F1 after this season.
Both Red Bull and AlphaTauri will be performing with new liveries at the race. This is set to be a tribute to Honda and that is why the livery has been inspired by Honda RA 272 car which made history by being the first ever Japanese car to win a F1 race.
The race was originally set to take place in Japan and the tribute would’ve been in front of the home fans. However, the race was shifted to Turkey but the plans to pay tribute by making a special livery stayed intact.
