Max Verstappen got his first ever F1 super-license at the age of 17 – the youngest ever to receive it in the history of the sport
Max Verstappen‘s first ever F1 super-license is currently being displayed at the F1 exhibition in Madrid. Verstappen received the super-license at the age of 17, making him the youngest ever driver to receive it in the history of Formula One. The Dutchman became the youngest driver to compete in F1 when he made his debut in 2015 at the age of 17 years and three days. Interestingly, Verstappen got his F1 super-license even before he got the actual driving license.
The FIA Super License is a driver’s qualification allowing the holder to compete in the Formula One World Championship. Verstappen successfully got it at the age of 17 before making his full-time debut in the F1 World Championship at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix, representing Toro Rosso alongside Carlos Sainz. Verstappen has always been a prodigy and he is doing complete justice to his talent as an F1 driver, with two F1 titles already in his bag – it only promises to get bigger and better for him from here.
Max Verstappen has absolutely dominated F1 in recent years
Max Verstappen has come a long way since 2015 when he became the youngest driver ever to compete in the F1 World Championship. He Verstappen has absolutely dominated Formula One in the last couple of years and continues to do so even in the ongoing season.
The two-time F1 champion has noticed up more wins in the last two years (26) than closest rivals Ferrari in the last ten years (23). This is an astounding achievement for Verstappen and establishes his dominance in the F1 circuit.
Red Bull and Verstappen’s dominance was pretty evident last season as well as both cruised to the Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championship titles respectively without much of a challenge from their nearest rivals. In the 2022 season, Verstappen registered a record 15 grand prix victories in and also the most Driver of the Day awards. The Dutchman even won the driver of the day award five times in 2022, courtesy of early-season successes in Imola and Miami and later in Hungary, Belgium and the Netherlands. He has started the 2023 season in similar fashion, winning the season-opener in Bahrain followed by a second-place finish in Saudi Arabia.
