F1 has witnessed Ferrari’s decline and Max Verstappen’s rapid emergence in the recent past – here’s how things stand
Two-time World champion, Max Verstappen has dominated Formula One in the last couple of years and it has come at a time when Ferrari has been going through a severely troublesome phase. Some incredible facts have surfaced which show the astonishing difference in results between Ferrari and Verstappen. Verstappen and Red Bull have been at their very best in the last few years and it has come at the expense of top teams like Ferrari and Mercedes.
Statistics show Verstappen has got more wins in the last two years (25) than Ferrari in the last ten years (23). This is an astounding achievement for Verstappen and certainly demoralizing for Ferrari. Red Bull and Verstappen’s dominance was pretty clear this season and both cruised to the Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championship titles respectively with little of a challenge from their nearest rivals.
Fans react to the astounding stat on Twitter
Let us take a look at what fans make of this huge difference in results between Verstappen and Ferrari.
“This says more about Ferrari than Max, in my opinion. Dont get me wrong, Max is an incredible driver and brilliant at his craft. Ferrari being such a titan in this sport and such a decorated one at that, and they’ve just massively lacked in the last 10 years”, wrote a fan.
“And in that time Ferrari were the most well resourced team. Comes a point where you have to think that it’s not just 1 man at the top that can be changed and suddenly they’re the powerhouse they once were”, tweeted another fan.
“This is no comparison. Most the wins are either #CostCapWin or by cheating”, trolled a fan.
“All courtesy of a breach of the budget cap, rules changed to suit RBR plus favourable decisions from the powers that be. Penalties in races and qualifying not applied, modifications to cars allowed and then if changed allowed months before anything applied”, read another tweet.
