Monaco GP 2022: Final preview, Predictions and where to watch

Charles Leclerc is set to start in pole position at the Monaco GP followed by Ferrari team-mate Carlos Sainz

The Monaco Grand Prix is set to take place later this evening at the iconic Circuit de Monaco. Local favorite Charles Leclerc was the fastest in qualifying and will start in pole position. Leclerc’s Ferrari team-mate will start in the second position followed by the Red Bull duo of Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen.

Monaco GP 2022 Preview and Track

The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the oldest and most prestigious racing events in the world. It is one of the races—along with the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, that form the Triple Crown of Motorsport. The 79th edition of the Monaco GP is taking place at the Circuit de Monaco.

Circuit de Monaco is a street circuit laid out on the city streets of Monte Carlo and La Condamine around the harbor of the Principality of Monaco. It is commonly referred to as ‘Monte Carlo’ because it is largely inside the Monte Carlo neighborhood of Monaco.

The circuit spans a length of 3.337 km and includes 78 laps with 19 turns. It first hosted the Monaco GP in 1950 and has a capacity of 37,000. The circuit de Monaco has an FIA Grade 1 license.

In the United States, fans can catch the action on the ESPN Network. Viewers in the UK can watch every session from the start of the first practice session to the end of the race on Sky Sports. In India, the qualifying session and main race will be broadcast live on Star Sports. All practice sessions, qualifying sessions and the main race can be streamed live on Disney+Hotstar.

Monaco GP Predictions

Another intense Verstappen-Leclerc duel is on the cards in Barcelona. A local favorite, Charles Leclerc will have the added advantage of crowd support! Will that be enough to get the better of championship leader, Max Verstappen? Well, we will have all the answers tonight. The ever-consistent Sergio Perez is again one of the contenders to finish on the podium. Carlos Sainz and George Russell are expected to finish in the top six.
