Otmar Szafnauer denies reports of joining Alpine Formula One team
Ahead of the Brazilian GP 2021, big speculations of Aston Martin team principal Otmar Szafanuer switching his team were aroused. It was reported that he was joining Alpine Formula One team. The news came in as a shock as nobody expects him to leave a team that he has been a part of since 2009.
However, the speculations were recently cleared by Szafanuer himself. He took to social media to release the following statement:
“My Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team communications staff have correctly issued a spokesperson’s statement. To the effect that rumors linking me to Alpine F1 Team are merely ‘speculative conjecture’. And that they would not therefore comment further. “
“However, since the rumors have now been sensationalized on certain websites, creating a spiral of misinformation. I have taken the decision proactively to confirm hereby that the rumors are pure media speculation and not based on fact.”
As revealed by the team principal himself, these are just media speculations and hold no factuality. Szafnauer has been a part of the team since the beginning. He joined the team in 2009 when it was known as Force India. It was later took over by Lawrence Stroll and changed into Racing Point and later Aston Martin.
