Daniel Ricciardo’s guest of honour, a horse had his own place to stay in the F1 paddock at the US Grand Prix
Daniel Ricciardo made a grand entry to the Circuit of the Americas on Thursday. The McLaren was spotted in full cowboy gear complete with sideburns, as he entered the venue of the US Grand Prix riding a horse. He was also accompanied by a friend playing the guitar named Rob Baird, a professional musician.
Ricciardo’s horse lives on a ranch, an hour away from the F1 venue. His actual name is ‘Blue’ and Horsey McHorse is just his nickname. Interestingly, he has been given an identity card of his own with the name ‘Horsey McHorse’ by the F1 personnel. “It is his nickname. We didn’t know Blue’s name at the time of getting the credentials, but I feel Horsey McHorseface might be where it stays”, Ricciardo revealed.
The Australian is entering his final few races as a McLaren driver and potentially his last few days as a Formula 1 racer. But that did not stop Ricciardo from embracing his usual showmanship as he arrived in the paddock at the Circuit of The Americas. If Ricciardo eventually is not a part of F1 next season, his enthusiasm and showmanship will certainly be missed in the paddock.
Let us look at some of the reactions from fans on Twitter on Ricciardo’s horse getting his personal identity card.
“That’s cute! And I can’t believe it’s the last year we’ll see DR at COTA”, wrote a fan.
“When a horse can get a vip paddock pass to a f1 race and you can’t”, joked another fan.
“The horse has a paddock pass while I can’t even get an old F1 shirt”, wrote another fan, echoing similar sentiments.
“Another reason to love @danielricciardo. Ricciardo + Texas = magic”, read a tweet from a Ricciardo fan.
“Danny Ricciardo is having an excellent time on his way out this season”, tweeted another fan.
