McLaren have revealed their special look for the races in Asia – Japan and Singapore
McLaren will race with a special livery featuring some striking neon pink flashes for the upcoming Formula One races in Singapore and Japan. The new-look car features Cyberpunk-inspired illustrations of the engine on the side of the car, giving off the impression of being see-through at certain points.McLaren has kept its usual papaya orange color on the sidepods, nose front wing, and halo of the car.
It’s not just the McLaren car that will be seen in a new avatar but even the drivers will sport a new look! Special suits have been designed for both Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo for both races in Asia. In its official statement about the new livery, McLaren stated: “The effervescent design represents the emergence of new technologies from the region, with a look to the future inspired by the cityscapes of Singapore and Japan, where Formula 1 returns for the first time since 2019.”
There are mixed reactions to the new livery from fans on Twitter. Let us look at some responses.
“Congratulations you’ve made a disgusting livery even uglier. Mclaren now truly is an American team”, wrote a fan who is clearly not impressed by the new look.
“It’s a very very busy livery which I’m not usually a fan of. This however does look great in the promo shots, excited to see how it looks on track”, wrote another fan with a contradicting opinion.
“Not a fan, I’m afraid. Bring back the awesome Gulf livery instead”, read another tweet.
“Just when u think that the livery can’t get any worse”, tweeted another fan.
“It looks a bloody mess that i just for sponsors, not fans. All Mclaren is now is a business, not for fans, not for drivers”, came another tweet.
