Romain Grosjean survived a horrific crash in Bahrain and his recovery is going well

Former F1 star, Romain Grosjean, has posted another photo of his recovery after his horrific crash in Bahrain earlier in the year.

The Frenchman is out of an F1 season but that would have been the least of his concerns after this crash. Many were shocked at the sheer force which saw his car split in half. Grosjean’s car was also completely engulfed in flames and he was able to jump out of danger but was in the fire for quite a while.

The Frenchman suffered some burns and underwent surgery in December but couldn’t race in the final two Grand Prix of the season.

Grosjean also had a special helmet ready for the final race of the 2020 season, but he has posted more updates on his recovery.

The 34-year-old shared a photo of his right hand and it has a few marks left from the time in hospital. The Frenchman added that his left hand is getting better but he didn’t share a photo of that on Twitter:

Life-saving Halo

There were many who had questioned the use of the Halo safety device when it was introduced into F1.

However, it was that ring that saved Grosjean’s life as he could have been impaled by the steel barriers.

This was also a testament as to how far F1 had come in terms of safety. The doctors were also with Grosjean in a matter of seconds and they were able to treat the Frenchman.

Things could have been much worse for Grosjean just a few years back but the way the car split into two would have been a major concern.

Grosjean might not have a race seat now but there is no doubt he will be back in one of the top series sooner rather than later.
