Sebastian Vettel seems to be making the most of F1’s one-week break leading to the Mexican GP – the F1 legend went hiking in Chile
Sebastian Vettel is enjoying the one-week break ahead of the penultimate race of this Formula one season. Vettel was seen exploring Chile with his friends and the pictures have gone viral on social media. F1 teams and drivers are headed towards Brazil from Mexico for the Brazilian GP this weekend. Since Brazil and Chile are both nearby countries in South America, Vettel didn’t have to think too much about his probable travel destination.
In the pictures, Vettel can be seen exploring exotic locations in Chile along with a group of friends. It also appears that the German driver went on a trek on the mountainous terrains of the South American country. It was a short and sweet break for Vettel heading towards the final two races of his F1 career.
Sebastian Vettel is set to retire from F1 at the end of this season
Sebastian Vettel is heading towards the last two races of his F1 career. He has earlier announced that he will retire from Formula 1 at the end of the 2022 season. The 35-year-old German, who spent six seasons with Ferrari after joining the Italian team in 2015, will see out the remainder of his final campaign with Aston Martin. Vettel is currently third on the list of all-time Grand Prix winners with 53 victories, trailing only Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher.
“The decision to retire has been a difficult one for me to take, and I have spent a lot of time thinking about it,” said Vettel, who confirmed his retirement mid-way through the season in a video posted on Instagram. After making his debut in 2007, Vettel has achieved remarkable feats in F1 and has certainly established himself as an all-time legend of the sport.
