David Croft has been the voice of Formula One over the years and his iconic statements certainly reverberate in the minds of F1 fans across the globe.
Croft is a very popular name in the F1 circuit and has been associated with the sport for more than two decades. Before joining Sky Sports network, Croft covered Formula One for BBC Radio from 2006-2011. Croft is a very familiar name for most F1 enthusiasts as he has also been the voice of various editions of the official F1 game franchise.

There are several other iconic phrases that Croft has used at various points in F1 which will always reverberate in our ears. For example, the iconic phrase ‘Here comes Sebastian Vettel’ which dates back to the 2018 Belgian GP, when Sebastian Vettel overtook Lewis Hamilton after overtaking him on the Kemmel Straight.
Another memorable phrase is “Through goes Hamilton”, which Croft used during the 2022 British Grand Prix while describing Lewis Hamilton’s glorious overtake in lap 45 of the race. Croft covered the incidents of the last quarter of the race brilliantly and made them even more exciting with his commentary. “Leclerc has that inside line. Perez goes off the track, cuts the chicane. Off goes Leclerc. Through goes Hamilton, unbelievable stuff!!” screamed Croft. Most of us still get goosebumps upon re-watching those moments.
