Red Bull and Honda reveal future plans after the 2021 season

It has been already confirmed earlier that Honda will leave the F1 world after the 2021 season. This will leave Red Bull and AlphaTauri without any engine partner in the future. Instead of looking at partnering with other engine manufacturers like Renault and Mercedes, Red Bull have decided to set up their own engine manufacturing.

It has been revealed that Honda will continue to support both Red Bull teams in the 2022 season for their new Red Bull Powertrains division. It has also been reported that some of the Honda Racing Development UK employees will be transferred to the Red Bull Powertrains to support the team.

Also worth noting that Honda will provide assistance only for the 2022 season. Beyond this the Red Bull Powertrains unit will take full responsibility for the manufacturing and servicing of the engines.
