The British Grand Prix organisers Silverstone, experienced high demand for tickets for the 2023 race
Silverstone has temporarily suspended ticket sales for the 2023 British Grand Prix, after their ticketing provider suffered from “intermittent issues” due to the demand. The circuit put tickets on sale for next year’s race on Thursday morning, however those looking to buy them kept running into error pages and were unable to complete their purchase. A spokesperson for the circuit confirmed over 200,000 people registered for the sale, with 25,000 fans waiting in the queue.
In an official statement, the organisers announced: “We’ve decided to suspend the 2023 Formula 1 British Grand Prix ticket sale, as we’re acutely aware a lot of fans have experienced intermittent issues in securing their tickets. Due to ongoing issues with our ticketing provider, Secutix, we feel the fairest thing for us to do, is to temporarily pause sales and freeze all ticket prices until these are resolved.”
However, ticket sales are set to resume tomorrow morning after this temporary closure.
