Charles Leclerc is currently enjoying the short break from F1 action with his family in Monaco
Charles Leclerc has requested privacy after his private address got leaked for some unknown reason. Leclerc resides in Monaco like most other present and former F1 drivers as the city ensures the utmost privacy of its residents besides allowing tax exemptions. However, the Ferrari driver’s home address has somehow been leaked into the public domain and fans are queuing up outside his residence for autographs and photographs.
Leclerc issued a statement on his social media accounts last night after observing that fans have been crowding outside his house on a regular basis. “Hey everyone, For the past few months, my home address has somehow become public, leading to people gathering beneath my apartment, ringing my bell, and asking for pictures and autographs. While I am happy to be there for you and I truly appreciate your support, please respect my privacy and refrain from coming to my house”, the Ferrari driver wrote.
He further added: “I’ll make sure to stop for everyone when you see me on the streets or at the track, but I won’t be coming downstairs if you visit my home. Your support, both in person and on social media, means the world to me, but there is a boundary that should not be crossed.”
Leclerc seems to be pretty offended by the behaviour of the fans but he didn’t forget to wish the fans a “Happy Easter” at the end.
Charles Leclerc has made a poor start to the F1 season
Leclerc’s start to the new season has been pretty underwhelming, registering two DNFs in three races so far. The Ferrari man began the season with a DNF in Bahrain but put up a decent display in the next race in Saudi Arabia to finish seventh and earn six points. However, Ferrari and Leclerc’s woes continued at the Australian Grand Prix, with the Monegasque registering another DNF in Melbourne.
We are three races into the new season and Leclerc is nowhere near the reckoning for the top spots. Red Bull are dominating the drivers’ championship standings after a fantastic start to the season with 1-2 finishes in both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia followed by another top-of-the-podium finish in Australia.
Max Verstappen leads the standings with 69 points followed by his team-mate Sergio Perez, who occupies the second spot with 54 points while Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso lies in the third spot with 45 points – ahead of Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz and Lance Stroll. Meanwhile, Leclerc is placed 10th with only 6 points in his kitty.
It’s not looking good for Ferrari either. In the constructors’ championship, reigning champions Red Bull lead the table with 123 points. Aston Martin are significantly behind in second place, having earned 65 points from three races so far. Mercedes are placed third on the leaderboard with 56 points while Leclerc’s Ferrari have earned only 26 points so far and occupy the fourth spot.
