F1 action resumes this weekend at the US Grand Prix after a week-long break. The US GP, initially known as the American Grand Prize was first held way back in 1908. The Grand Prix later became a part of the F1 World Championship and to date has been held 50 times. Since 2012, it has been held every year at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, barring the 2020 season when it was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lewis Hamilton is the most successful driver in the history of the US Grand Prix with a record six wins to his name. Ferrari are the most successful constructors, having registered ten wins in this GP. Charles Leclerc’s lap timing of 1:36.169, while driving a Ferrari SF90 in the 2019 US Grand Prix is the official race lap record at this GP.
