Valtteri Bottas will take part in Race of Champions 2022
It has been recently announced that the Mercedes F1 driver Valtteri Bottas will also be competing in next year’s Race of Champions. Bottas also reacted to the news tweeting:

Race of Champions is a motor sporting event held every year featuring stars from the biggest racing events across the world. Racers from NASCAR, F1, IndyCar, World Rally, also many more come together to race each other.
The racers also compete in identical cars. Next year’s Race of Champions will be held at a course on the frozen Baltic Sea in Sweden at the resort of Pite Havsbad.
Bottas will be representing team Finland in the Race of Champions Cup. Team Finland will have another racer who’s identity is yet to be announced.
Why is Valtteri Bottas leaving Mercedes?
Bottas will be leaving Mercedes to join Alfa Romeo for the 2022 season. The specific reason of it has not been revealed as of yet. From what it seems Bottas doesn’t want to be a number two driver as he has been named at Mercedes.
Bottas is currently third on the F1 Driver’s standings behind Max Verstappen and also Lewis Hamilton. The Finn was at Mercedes for five years and also has won 9 races yet. His seat at Mercedes will be taken by George Russell. It will be interesting to see Bottas and also how he performs at Alfa Romeo next season.
