Verstappen Grandstand welcomes back fans at Austrian GP
Max Verstappen had some good news for his fans as he announced the return of fans to the Verstappen Grandstand.
The Red Bull Ring in Austria has installed a ‘Max Verstappen’ grandstand five years ago. Verstappen has been part of the Red Bull team since his debut in 2016.
He posted on Instagram saying:
“Verstappen Travel just got informed they can send fans to the Official Verstappen Grandstands at the GP of Austria again, which is fantastic news.”
Fans have been denied the opportunity to attend races due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The return of fans will be a welcome sight to the drivers and the team, after a curtailed 2020 season. Austria hosted a double header to begin last season after the revised scheduled allowed only 20 races.
Red Bull’s home Grand Prix is set to take place on July 4 this year in Spielberg, Styria, Austria.
Will the Red Bulls dethrone Mercedes in 2021 ?
Red Bull have started impressively in 2021, with Sergio Perez signed as the second driver after replacing Alex Albon. Perez, impressed last year at Racing Point, which got team principal Christian Horner to sign him on a one-year deal.
Max Verstappen has been the dominant force in F1 this season. He has taken the fight to 7-time champion, Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen won the Italian GP and Monaco GP to make his first wins at those venues. His rival, Hamilton was won the other three races, but finished in a dismal P7 in Monaco last time out.
Furthermore, Verstappen goes into the Azerbaijan GP with a slim lead over Hamilton and will be looking to extend it with a strong performance in the race. Red Bull have won the Constructors’ Championship 4 (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) times in their history.
Max Verstappen will be looking to even the score out as the season GP wins are at 3-2 with Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen will be looking to dethrone Mercedes and Hamilton who have dominated the sport for the last 7 years.
