Fernando Alonso has won over the hearts of fans once again with a sweet gesture of gifting a signed cap to a young fan at Silverstone. During the Alpine team’s autograph session at the British GP, Alonso and team-mate Esteban Ocon were handing over signed memorabilia to some lucky fans – when Alonso was seen voluntarily gifting his cap to a young fan.
Fernando Alonso has had an impressive run so far in the British GP. As a result of an impressive qualifying session, Alonso is set to start the race from seventh place on the grid. In his illustrious career, the Spaniard has won the British GP twice before – 2006 and 2011.
Alonso however, believes that he could have finished higher had his battery not run out of charge during the final lap in qualifying.
Fernando Alonso is certainly a heart-throb among F1 fans. He managed to win over the hearts of the fans yet another time with this gesture.
“You see that happiness and love in eyes of kid. Fernando is a legend and he touched heart of that little kid which he will never forget”, wrote a fan.
Another fan tweeted – “Hate him for what he does on track sometimes all you want, but never.. EVER.. go after Nando the guy. He’s the best of eggs.”
“This is the influence that athletes should have and do – a small gesture like that the hat was 100% free for Alonso but for that kid it could change everything, and even shape the selflessness about him” – tweeted another fan, echoing similar sentiments.
