Sergio Perez has arrived at his home circuit ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix this weekend
Sergio Perez never fails to win over the hearts of his fans, and he has done it once again on home turf. Perez’s sweet gesture of meeting a young fan amidst security has gone viral on the internet. Perez has a huge fan following in his home country, Mexico and the Red Bull driver didn’t disappoint them after arriving at the Mexico City circuit. The Mexican Grand Prix is scheduled to take this weekend at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
In a video which has gone viral on the internet, a young fan can be seen running towards Perez while the driver was interacting with media personnel at the circuit. The security understandably stopped the young boy from getting close to Perez. However, the Mexican star asked the security to release him and obliged with his young fan’s requests. Perez was seen giving his autograph on the boy’s cap and also clicked a selfie with his young fan. This sweet gesture has won over the hearts of fans on social media and those present at the scene.
Can Sergio Perez win the Mexican GP on home turf?
Sergio Perez is coming to the Mexican in third place in the overall drivers’ championship. The Mexican driver has already won two races this season – Monaco GP and Singapore GP and would look to seal another win on home turf at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. He is certainly one of the favourites to do so but will face a tough challenge from team-mate Max Verstappen and the likes of Leclerc, Hamilton, Sain and Russell.
Sergio Perez has finished in the top six number of times this season but interestingly hasn’t been placed third even once. He seems to have a special disliking for number three or is it just a co-incidence? The Mexican has finished in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th positions so far this season but with three races remaining, he hasn’t finished a single race in third place. It would if be interesting to see if he continues his streak in Mexico as well.
