The Circuit of the Americas is the home of the US Grand Prix and will host the event once again this weekend from October 21-23

F1 action resumes this weekend at the US Grand Prix after a week-long break. The US GP, initially known as the American Grand Prize was first held way back in 1908. The Grand Prix later became a part of the F1 World Championship and till date has been held 50 times. Since 2012, it has been held every year at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, barring the 2020 season when it was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This edition of the US Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from October 21 to October 23.

The home of the US GP is the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas which was opened just nine years ago in 2012. It is an FIA Grade 1 circuit with a maximum crowd capacity of 1,50,000. The circuit was the first in the United States to be purpose-built for Formula One although it also hosts a number of other racing events like NASCAR, Moto GP and V8 Supercars. The circuit has a length of 5.514 km and comprises a total of 20 turns.

When it comes to the current grid of drivers, Sebastian Vettel, Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen have won this GP once each barring Hamilton. Hamilton has absolutely dominated the US GP, winning it five times in the last decade. However, the last time it was held, in 2021, Verstappen stood on top of the podium.
