Kelly Piquet is a Brazilian model and the current girlfriend of F1 World Champion Max Verstappen, her recent feature in Vogue Magazine raised a few eyebrows

Kelly Piquet has featured on the cover of Vogue magazine and the fact that she is representing ‘women in motorsport’ hasn’t gone down well with most fans. Kelly, the daughter of Former F1 champion Nelson Piquet, will be the cover star of the Dutch edition of Vogue magazine for January edition. The news was announced earlier this week and the photos and snippets of the cover have received tremendous backlash on social media.

A photo of the magazine cover shows the Brazilian model wearing a racing helmet, a feature which appears to portray her as a leader among women in motorsport. Piquet has previously worked in motorsport when she was responsible for social media coverage of Formula E. However, apart from the fact that she is the daughter of Nelson Piquet and the present girlfriend of Max Verstappen, Piquet hasn’t achieved anything till date which could make her one of the leading women in motorsport.

“She got this Job as a model, not as a driver, so please stop acting like she said she was a driver. They used the car theme because of her oldtimers and her roots and I personally think the pictures I‘ve seen so far turned out really nice”, read a tweet from a fan with a contradicting opinion.

Another fan wrote: “They could have chosen his mother who actually is a racer.”
