The 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix took place on the 31st of July, 2022 at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród, Hungary. The race comprised 70 laps and marked the thirty-seventh Hungarian Grand Prix to be included in the Formula One World Championship. The event spanned from the 29th to the 31st of July, serving as the thirteenth round of the 2022 Formula One World Championship.
Max Verstappen claimed victory in the race, an impressive feat considering he started from the 10th position on the starting grid. The Mercedes drivers, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, secured the second and third spots on the podium, with Russell having begun the race from pole position.
The Ferrari drivers, Carlos Sainz Jr. and Charles Leclerc, had a promising start but couldn’t maintain their positions until the end, finishing fourth and sixth respectively. As a result, Verstappen, who was leading the championship, extended his lead over Leclerc to 80 points.

2. Michael Schumacher – A legendary figure in Formula 1 history with seven World Championships to his name, Schumacher also left his mark on the Hungarian GP. He secured notable wins at the event in 1994, 1998, and 2001.
3. Lewis Hamilton – The British racing sensation, has proven himself as a dominant force in recent times, showcasing his prowess at the Hungarian Grand Prix with numerous victories. He is the most successful driver at this GP with eight wins to his name – 2007, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
4. Sebastian Vettel – A four-time Formula One World Champion, Vettel has also been victorious at the Hungarian Grand Prix on two occasions – 2015 and 2017.
5. Nelson Piquet – The Brazilian driver was quite successful at the Hungarian Grand Prix and was known for his impressive driving skills during his Formula One career. He won it twice – 1986 and 1987.
