Red Bull’s Sergio Perez took to Twitter to congratulate Lionel Messi on finally winning the World Cup with Argentina. La Albiceleste edged out France in a thrilling finale, to win their third-ever World Cup. Lionel Messi led from the front scoring two goals and also converted his spot kick in the tie-breaker to seal a historic win for his country despite a stunning hat-trick from Kylian Mbappe.
In his tweet, Perez shared two pictures – one where Messi is seen kissing the World Cup and holding his Golden Ball award while in another picture, Perez is seen sharing the frame with the football superstar. “You deserve it more than anyone, congratulations #LionelMessi and to all Argentines. Let’s celebrate”, the Mexican F1 driver tweeted. Being a supporter of LM10 for years now, Perez like others is understandably elated that Messi has finally been able to lift the most coveted trophy in world Football.
