As we gear up for this weekend’s British GP, let us take a look at the Constructor with most wins at this Grand Prix
The 2023 F1 season has reached a key juncture and we are now all set as the action moves to the United Kingdom. F1 teams will head out to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix, scheduled to take place from 7th July to 9th July. The British GP will take place at the iconic Silverstone circuit. Let us take a look at the most successful Constructors’ in the illustrious history of the British GP.
Ferrari holds the record for most number of wins (18) among constructors. McLaren (14) are a close second while Williams occupy the third spot with 10 race wins. If we take a look at the other teams in the current grid, Mercedes have nine wins while Red Bull have three wins at Silverstone.
When it comes to the drivers’, Lewis Hamilton holds the record for most wins at the British GP – eight. Max Verstappen holds the record of fastest lap timing – 1:27.097, while driving a Red Bull RB16 in 2020.
Red Bull continues to dominate the drivers’ championship standings following another top of the podium finish for Max Verstappen and a third-place finish for Sergio Perez in Austria.
They have made a fantastic start to the season and earlier recorded 1-2 finishes in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Miami and Azerbaijan besides top of the podium finishes in Australia, Monaco, Montreal and Austria. Verstappen leads the standings with 229 points followed by his team-mate Sergio Perez, who occupies the second spot with 148 points. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso lies in the third spot with 129 points – ahead of Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.
In the constructors’ championship, the picture is no different. Defending champions Red Bull are miles ahead of the pack having accumulated 377 points. Mercedes are significantly behind in second place, having earned 178 points from eight races so far. Aston Martin is placed third in the leaderboard with 172 points in their kitty – a whopping 205 points behind the leaders.
