As we gear up for this weekend’s Hungarian GP, let us take a look at the Constructor with most wins at this Grand Prix
The Hungarian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from 21-23 July at the picturesque Hungaroring Circuit. This is one of the most anticipated events in the motor racing calendar, held annually in Mogyoród. Since 1986, the race has been a round of the FIA Formula One World Championship. It was first held in 1936 and the 39th edition of the Hungarian GP will take place this weekend. Let us take a look at the most successful constructors’ in the illustrious history of this Grand Prix.
McLaren F1 team holds the record of most number of wins (11) among constructors. Williams are a joint second along with Ferrari – each having 7 wins. If we take a look at the other teams in the current grid, Mercedes have five wins while Red Bull have three wins at Hungaroring. When it comes to the drivers, Lewis Hamilton is the most successful driver at Hungaroring and holds the record of most wins at the Hungarian GP – eight. Lewis also Hamilton holds the record of fastest lap timing – 1:16.627, while driving a Mercedes W11 in 2020.
Max Verstappen secured another victory at Silverstone, solidifying Red Bull’s dominant position in the drivers’ championship standings. The team has had an outstanding start to the season, achieving 1-2 finishes in multiple races, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Miami, and Azerbaijan.
Additionally, they claimed top podium spots in Australia, Monaco, Montreal, and Austria. Currently, Verstappen leads the championship with an impressive 255 points, closely followed by his teammate Sergio Perez with 156 points. Fernando Alonso from Aston Martin holds the third position with 137 points, slightly ahead of Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz, and George Russell.
The situation in the constructors’ championship mirrors the dominance of Red Bull. The defending champions have amassed an impressive 411 points, putting them well ahead of the competition. Mercedes, currently in second place, trails far behind with 203 points from eight races. Aston Martin occupies the third position on the leaderboard with 181 points, an astonishing 230 points adrift from the leading Red Bull team.
