World No. 25 Diego Schwartzman had a great first half of the season but his performances dipped considerably in the latter half and his season ended when he crashed out of the Paris Masters in the first round. The 30-year-old would hope to turn things around when the new season begins.

He is currently enjoying his time in Qatar, watching the Fifa World Cup. Well, enjoying might not be apt at the moment for the Argentine as his compatriots suffered a shock defeat against Saudi Arabia in their first match in the competition. The South American giants were expected to make light work of their opponents but that wasn’t to be. The Asian country put an end to Argentina’s 36-match unbeaten run with a come-from-behind 2-1 win.

Diego Schwartzman was among the many Argentinian fans that flocked to the Lusail Stadium, Lusail on Tuesday hoping to watch their team begin their world cup campaign on a comprehensive note. However, he had to leave the stadium shell-shocked and dejected. He was spotted in the stadium wearing an understandable look of somberness.
