Stefanos Tsitsipas is geared to play his first Australian Open final on Sunday. He faces Novak Djokovic who is eyeing his 22nd Grand Slam title.
The Greek superstar has had a scintillating start to 2023. He has reached a Grand Slam final for the second time in his career. He lost to Djokovic in the 2021 French Open final but he would surely not hope for a repeat in Melbourne Park.
Tsitsipas, a fan of Roger Federer, will face one of his idol’s biggest nemeses on the court for a chance at history. The head-to-head scoreline is not promising to watch if you’re a Tsitsipas fan. The 24-year-old has won just two matches against Djokovic and lost 10. In fact, the Serbian legend has got the better of Tsitsipas in their past 9 meetings.
Djokovic is chasing Rafael Nadal’s total of 22 Grand Slam titles. A win in the finals will also see him win a record-extending 10th Australian Open title. Djokovic is unbeaten in the season so far and Tsitsipas has a huge task in hand to try and topple the legend.
