UFC lightweight fighter Fares Ziam was completely amazed by Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema’s heroic performance that thwarted Chelsea’s brave efforts
Karim Benzema’s twenty-five minutes hattrick in the first leg of their quarter-final tie against Chelsea had put them in a comfortable position of qualifying for the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. However, Chelsea wouldn’t go down without putting on a fight, and almost scripted an epic comeback, only for their party to be spoilt by Real Madrid ace, Karim Benzema.
Chelsea came close to smoking out the English translation of La Remontada and were leading at one point after scripting an epic comeback in the second leg. Goals from Mason Mount, A. Rudiger and Timo Werner put Chelsea in the driver’s seat up until midfield maestro Luka Modric delivered a beautiful ball from the outside of his boot to Rodrygo, who netted the ball flawlessly, pushing the tie to extra time.
Karim Benzema scored in the 96th minute, bringing back the lead home, and that goal would secure Madrid’s place in the semi-final.

The world was in awe of the Real Madrid team’s performance, especially Karim Benzema who has been at the peak of his form this season. The French footballer has single-handedly carried his team out of slump on various occasion, and there’s been heavy lobbying for him to win the Ballon d’Or.
Fellow French athlete and UFC fighter Fares Ziam, posted a picture of them together and applauded the Real Madrid star for his stalwart performance.
