Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Serena, Kenin and many other top stars to compete at 2020 Miami Open

The qualifying rounds of the Miami Open will kick off from March 23-24

Many top stars including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams, and Sofia Kenin will feature in the upcoming 2020 Miami Open.

The Miami Open on Tuesday announced that tennis fans from around the globe will get an opportunity to witness the world’s biggest stars compete against each other at the Hard Rock Stadium from March 23rd to April 5th.

The tournament announced a full field that features 19 players, who have a combined 100 career Grand Slam titles between them. Overall, each of the top 76 ranked men and 74 ranked women have entered to compete in Miami.

Other than Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal the men’s field will also feature the likes of ‘Next Gen’ stars such as German Alexander Zverev, World No.5 Daniil Medvedev, and 2019 ATP Finals champion Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Australian star Nick Kyrgios, 3-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka, 2018 Miami Open champion John Isner, Australian Open runner-up Dominic Thiem and 9-time ATP tour winner Gael Monfils will also feature in the men’s group.

Interesting names in women’s field

It’s not just the men’s section that promises to excite as the women’s section is filled with even more interesting names, which includes the likes top female stars such as Serena Williams, Sofia Kenin and many others.

Other than 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena, who is aiming for her ninth Miami Open title, the women’s field includes defending Miami Open champion Ashleigh Barty, 2019 Wimbledon winner Simona Halep, defending US Open champion Bianca Andreescu, Naomi Osaka, and other big stars of the game.

The future stars of women’s tennis such as 15-year-old US teenage sensation Coco Gauff, 18-year-old Amanda Anisimova, from Aventura, will also be on display at the tournament.

The qualifying rounds will kick off from March 23-24 and will determine 12 additional slots in each single’s draw. The Miami Open also will award wildcards to five men and eight women.

The women’s main draw begins on March 24, followed by the first round of the men’s main draw on March 25.
