Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester United XI to face BSC Young Boys

Manchester United played out a rather stale 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford after a 3-1 humiliation at the hands of Manchester City before the international break.

The Red Devils got their Champions League campaign back on track with a 2-1 win over Juventus away from home on Matchday 4.

Jose Mourinho’s men will be the outright favourites to pick up all three points when they play host to Swiss champions BSC Young Boys on Tuesday.

United won the reverse fixture 3-0 against the Young Boys on Matchday 1 and the Swiss champions are already out of contention for a place in the last 16.

Team News

Manchester United will be without the services of Victor Lindelof who suffered a groin injury in the game against Palace. Diogo Dalot continues to be on the sidelines with a knock while Luke Shaw is set to return to the first-team, having served a domestic ban for five yellow cards.

Eric Bailly was dropped for the game against Palace but he is likely to replace Lindelof in the heart of the defence.

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jose Mourinho

Predicted XI

1. David De Gea (GK)

He made a fantastic double save in the last game and has always been a reliable presence between the sticks.

2. Ashley Young (RB)

He worked hard in the last game but wasn’t able to come up with the end product and he will be expected to improve in the Champions League.

3. Chris Smalling (CB)

The Englishman has been one of the standout figures at the back barring a few slip-ups and he will be expected to continue his good work.

4. Eric Bailly (CB)

He has fallen out of favour under Mourinho but the injury to Lindelof should open the door for the Ivorian to get a start.

5. Luke Shaw (LB)

The Englishman has rejuvenated his injury-marred career this season, contributing equally to both defence and attack.

6. Marouane Fellaini (CDM)

Nemanja Matic has largely underwhelmed with his lacklustre displays this season and Mourinho should consider changing things up a bit by using Fellaini.

7. Fred (LCM)

The Brazilian hasn’t lived up to his huge price tag and he should be given an opportunity in the Champions League to express himself.

8. Paul Pogba (RCM)

The Frenchman wasn’t at the top of his game against Palace and lacked his usual sharpness. He will need to improve significantly if United are to come away with a positive result.

9. Jesse Lingard (RW)

He was disappointing in the last game but so was Juan Mata. The Englishman in a difficult player to mark with his agility in the final third and Mourinho should give him a start.
