Charles Leclerc will start Sunday’s Miami Grand Prix in pole position ahead of his Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz in P2.
After a thrilling Qualifying session at the Miami Grand Prix on Saturday, Charles Leclerc set the fastest time in Q3 to grab pole position for the main race on Sunday. It was the third pole position for the Monegasque this year. The Ferrari driver will also have his teammate Carlos Sainz along with him on the front row.
Red Bull duo of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez finished P3 and P4 respectively. The former missed out on a place in the front row due to an error he made on the final lap. Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas will start in P5 ahead of his former Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton.
Pierre Gasly, Lando Norris, Yuki Tsunoda and Lance Stroll made up the remaining places in the top 10. However, F1 fans were glad to see Ferrari back in contention for another 1-2 finish as the Scuderia locked down the front row on the grid.
On Twitter, one wrote, “So happy to see Ferrari and Charles Leclerc do well after a rather disappointing time at Imola.” Another added, “Ferrari look to be bringing back the good old glory days. A 1-2 lock on the front row is just brilliant for the Scuderia.”
A third commented, “Ferrari look really strong this weekend. I don’t see anyone else coming close to them. Not even Red Bull.”
