Few FIFA 23 OTW Cards have been announced but the release date, stats, and how to upgrade them are still unknown to many. Learn everything here.
Ones to Watch (OTW) cards focus on players who have moved clubs during the summer transfer window, and FIFA 23 is just around the corner, which means players are eager to begin their annual Ultimate Team journey. Two separate teams will be released as part of OTW.
FIFA 23 offers a variety of special cards, including Ones To Watch. With OTW cards, you get an OVR boost every time your player appears in EA’s Team of the Week. Unlike your regular upgrade cards, OTW cards are scalable throughout the season. Hence, the card’s value and performance could skyrocket over the course of the year, making it a useful tool in your club.
In each FIFA game, these promo cards are the very first ones to be released, to celebrate new transfers and usher in a new season. Therefore, they are quite hard to get your hands on, as everyone wants to pad out their team with dynamic cards. So, what is the release date for FIFA 23 OTW Cards, and how to upgrade them? To get the answers, read till the end.
The Ones To Watch event will be released on Friday, September 30th, coinciding with FIFA 23’s full release. Ones To Watch Team 1 is the first event in the FUT 23 cycle. As with FIFA 23, the OTW promo has historically been released on the same day as FIFA 23’s full release. In OTW Team 1, Erling Haaland, Darwin Nunez, Raheem Sterling, and Richarlison will be joining.
A Ones to Watch card is a live card, which means it can be upgraded at any time during the season. It is not uncommon for OTW cards to become highly sought after due to their potential for multiple upgrades. Players can earn upgrades in three ways, including the TOTW upgrades you have done previously. As of September 30, players will be eligible for a one-time upgrade if their team wins three out of eight domestic league games in a row.
Furthermore, FIFA World Cup 2022 offers another way to upgrade FUT 23. A Ones to Watch player will receive a one-time upgrade if his or her national team wins any games during the World Cup, under the new ‘Nations to Watch’ system. For the OTW upgrade to be valid, the OTW players do not need to be featured in the game or even be a part of the squad.
Before September 30, players who pre-order FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition will receive an untradable Ones to Watch player item.
