FIFA 23 Road to World Cup Release Date

It was confirmed by a loading screen within the game that FIFA 23 Road to the World Cup will begin at 6 PM GMT on Friday, November 25, 2022. The promotion will only last one week before being replaced on Friday, December 2, by the World Cup Stories promo.

FIFA 23 Road to World Cup

Ultimate Team’s Road to the World Cup promo is a brand-new event, so we don’t know what to expect. During promos, new cards will be added to packs, with many more being released via Objectives and SBCs, as usual. It is unclear who or what mechanics these cards will have, or who they will be given to.

This promo is set to feature more World Cup icons, and upgraded cards will be included in packs for a limited time only, just as in the Path to Glory promotion with the World Cup FUT Heroes. Additionally, tokens can be earned through the WC Swaps campaign. Road to the World Cup is launching on Black Friday, so expect to see plenty of Flash SBCs and discounted packs available.

Leaks

There is partial information revealed on three of the players heading to the World Cup on the latest loading screen, with two appearing pretty obvious, but the third causing a bit of debate. Kylian Mbappe is certain to be the French player, while Son Heung Min represents the Korean Republic, explaining their exclusion from the Best Of Team of the Week.

Considering that the La Liga icon appears where a players club would typically be, the first card looks like a FUT Hero player. In the event that it isn’t a FUT Hero variant, it might be a hint that Road to the World Cup players will have slightly altered chemistry styles, similar to World Cup Player Item chemistry styles.

Additionally, 30 more Icons will receive the updated variant in the next World Cup Icon cards, which will include Pele (OVR 96), Zinedine Zidane (OVR 95), and Ronaldo (OVR 95).
