This game is scheduled to be released in monthly installments and retells developments from the 1997 video game Final Fantasy VII, along with the movies Advent Children and Crisis Core, and the video game Dirge of Cerberus, Before Crisis, Crisis Core.
Players can jump between different entries in the series by selecting chapters from a timeline. The battle system incorporates Active Time Battles from the original game. The game will be free to play, and there will be loot boxes filled with random weapons and costumes. While the game’s gameplay is quite similar to the original, it has been updated in many ways. During exploration, the game uses a top-down camera and chibi graphics that replicate the original’s distinct style for fans of the original. Fighting in the game uses an active battle system similar to Final Fantasy 7, where the player and enemies take turns performing attacks, using items, and using special abilities. Graphics in combat are also more realistic, with significantly fewer stylized chibi bodies.
Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis Beta
The Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis beta will offer players a sneak peek at the alternate remake, which will be released on mobile devices. Ever Crisis will release sometime later in 2022, but there will also be a closed beta period where selected players will be able to test out the game firsthand.
