Release Date
Fire Force fans were overjoyed when it was confirmed on May 16, 2022, that it will return for its third season. Since then, they’ve eagerly anticipated this exciting development!
As both seasons of this anime premiered during summertime, it is expected that its third installment will follow suit and also debut during this time frame. While we do not yet know when exactly production of its new season will commence, production has already started.
Plotwise, the third season will pick up where its predecessor left off – specifically by adapting chapters 174-185 of volume 20 of Atsushi Ohkubo’s manga series. This gives viewers another opportunity to witness Shinra Kusakabe and his team as they fight against White Clad and its sinister plans for humanity.
Although no official announcement has been made, it’s believed that most of the staff from previous seasons will return for season three. Tatsuma Minakawa will direct and original studio staff such as Kazuhiro Miwa (chief animator of series) and Kenichiro Suehiro (composer) will likely all work on it together – all good signs that this third season of the show will be well worth watching!
Cancellation Status
Recently, it wasn’t sure if Fire Force would return for another season of anime series; but then a tweet from its official Twitter account confirmed this possibility with an image showing Sharp-toothed Shinra Kusabake posing after one of her attacks and also confirmed the series would be receiving another season.

According to sources, makers have decided to bring back most of the cast and crew for this new installment, continuing the story from where season 2 left off – thus making season three likely adhere more closely with its source material than ever.

Yuki Yase left the studio after directing season one and was replaced by Tatsuma Minamikawa, an episode director for Shaft who had also directed on Monogatari series.
