Sadly, there won’t be a third season of Firefly Lane. Season 2 of Firefly Lane will be the series’ last season, Netflix announced.

On 2 December, Netflix unveiled part two of Season Two of Firefly Lane featuring Katherine Heigl and Scrubs star Sarah Chalke with an explosive conclusion – leaving viewers hanging.

Kristin Hannah’s books have proven popular with audiences and earned critical acclaim; yet the show has yet to be renewed for another season.

Cast

Kristin Hannah’s book of the same name inspired Netflix to create Firefly Lane. Starring Sarah Chalke from Scrubs and Katherine Heigl from Scrubs as Kate and Tully respectively – life-long best friends through thick and thin. While their relationship may have gone through some major trials and tribulations together, they remain loyal even during more trying times – always there for each other even though sometimes that doesn’t appear so clearly.

The first season of “Tully and Kate: Love is Hard” wrapped up last December with an emotional episode that revealed why Tully and Kate have an unbreakable bond, while its second installment, premiering this April, picks up years later with Tully now working as a celebrity news reporter and Kate still struggling to cope with her death.

Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke reprise their roles of Kate and Tully respectively in this season of Under the Dome. Additionally, Greg Germann as politician Benedict Binswanger and India de Beaufort as Charlie have made notable debuts – De Beaufort has previously appeared on Younger, One Day at a Time, Blood & Oil and Wandavision; Orange Is the New Black Breaking Bad Donnie Darko Under the Dome as well as her singing career having released several singles under her own name!

Kristen Hannah’s best-selling books inspired the first season of this drama on Netflix, released February 2021 and renewed for a second season which debuted December of last year. Unfortunately for fans though, a third installment wasn’t planned, which would have consisted of 16 episodes instead.

Maggie Friedman, known for creating Lifetime’s The Witches of East End and ABC’s Eastwick is serving as showrunner for this new series. She and Heigl serve as executive producers with Michael Spiller and Shawn Williamson serving as co-producers.

Jolene Purdy plays Tully’s new agent, India de Beaufort is Kate’s sarcastic war correspondent colleague and Ben Lawson is Tully’s producer Johnny Ryan. Beau Garrett portrays Cloud as Tully’s drug-addled mother while Yael Turman (Once Upon A Time) appears as Kate and Johnny’s daughter Marah – don’t miss the last episode of part two on April 27 if you want an exciting conclusion that leaves you wanting more!
