The new PGA Tour season is just a few weeks old, but we’ve already seen some strong fields contest the opening tournaments. Among the crop of established golfers are a new set of players looking to make their mark on the circuit.
Some have already claimed a win on Tour while others are still battling their way through the chasing pack. All have one thing in common: They are less familiar names aiming for the top and here are five of the best.
Sam Burns
The 2021/22 PGA season was a breakthrough campaign for Sam Burns and he now needs to stay at the top of the leaderboard on a consistent basis. At the start of that campaign, Burns was the form golfer and his efforts were rewarded with victory at the Sanderson Farms Championship in October.
Sam Burns is also a popular pick for the US Masters in April 2023. His only previous appearance at Augusta saw him miss the cut, but it’s felt that the course suits his game.
In the betting markets for the Masters, Burns is among the chasing pack while the favorites include Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm and the defending champion Scottie Scheffler.
Odds are provided by the best betting websites affiliated with Sbo.net and they are subject to change. If Sam Burns can claim some early season wins, his prices will shorten and he can join the favorites.
Visitors to the website can monitor his progress while taking on board a host of additional information. Breaking news and opinion articles are joined by betting guides and comprehensive sportsbook reviews.
If any of those bookmakers appear interesting, it’s possible to take things further. Each betting operator on the SBO panel is ready and waiting to accept new customers. Subject to eligibility requirements, it’s possible to open an account in just a few minutes.
In many cases, there is a generous welcome offer waiting and a range of funding providers can help players to cover opening bets.
Efficient customer services is one of a number of additional benefits that might also include ongoing bonuses, mobile app betting and the potential for live streaming international golf tournaments.
It’s a one-stop shop for golf betting, but Sam Burns isn’t the only talented golfer to watch this season.
Tom Kim
Needing a win in the final tournament of the season to make it through to the FedEx playoffs, Tom Kim responded in style. Victory at the Wyndham Championship in August saw him progress and the South Korean has since added the 2022 Shriners Children’s Open to his trophy cabinet.
By winning his first Tour title, Kim has underlined his ability to thrive under pressure. He’s still only 20, but there should be more trophies to come this season.
Taylor Pendrith
At the age of 31, Taylor Pendrith can be seen as a late developer, and 2022/23 could be his season. He’s steadily climbing the OGWR rankings and he debuted for the international team at the 2022 Presidents Cup.
Pendrith’s only professional wins to date have come on his native Canadian Tour, but he’s tipped to make a breakthrough in the new term.
Cameron Young
Cameron Young is another player waiting for his first Tour win, but he clearly has the appetite for a big occasion. The 25-year-old made his mark in 2022, finishing in a solo second at the Open Championship and a tie for third at the PGA Championship.
Young won two tournaments on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2021 and it’s surely only a matter of time before a PGA win comes his way.
Cameron Champ
A huge talent, Cameron Champ needs to add some consistency to his game. For a part of 2022, he battled with injury and hopefully that’s all behind him as he approaches a new season.
Champ has an outstanding long game, but there are areas for improvement elsewhere. He’s yet to compete on a regular basis at the top of leaderboards, but three PGA Tour wins to date tells us that there’s more to come.
Champ also recorded a Top Ten finish at the Masters in 2022 and he’s ready to make inroads into more Majors.
