Fonty Flock is a former NASCAR driver who won the 1952 Southern 500. He was the brother of Tim Flock, Bob Flock, and Ethel Mobley. Flock competed in NASCAR between 1949-1957 and won 19 races. Fonty Flock Car Accidents

Before his NASCAR debut, Fonty Flock experienced crashes at the Daytona Beach track. His car flipped after hitting Roy Hall’s vehicle. Flock suffered injuries on head, leg, and chest. In 1951, Flock suffered a crash during a NASCAR race. Flock’s car was hit by multiple cars and he was severely injured with a cut near his eyes.
Flock overcame injuries in most races, but the incident in the 1957 Southern 500 ended his career and life. During the event’s lap 27, Flock’s vehicle lost control and spun. Paul Goldsmith and Bobby Myers were involved in the incident and they hit Flock’s vehicle. Flock slid to the infield and Myers suffered injuries. After the incident, Bobby Myers passed away. Fonty Flock was in hospital before announcing retirement and he died of illness in 1972.
