Why Adama Traore would be a terrific addition for Liverpool
According to Sport (h/t Express), Liverpool have renewed their interest in Adama Traore and a move could be made in the near future. The Wolves winger has been in unusually quiet form this season and that has led to speculation about his exit from the club. Leeds United and Manchester City are also said to be in the race to sign him. A fee of around £35million could be enough to prise the 24-year-old away.
Liverpool need someone who can replace Salah in case he leaves
Even a few months ago, it would have seemed absurd to link an established forward like Traore to a settled team like Liverpool. However, given the recent developments with Mo Salah’s situation at the club, talk of a possible move for Traore is gathering steam.
In a recent interview regarding his future, Mo Salah refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona in the future (source – Mirror). There has been the belief that Salah has been underappreciated by the fans and he wouldn’t refuse a move to the Spanish giants if the opportunity presented itself.
So how to replace a prolific winger like Salah, who has perhaps taken Europe by storm ever since his move from Roma? By bringing in someone like Adama Traore.
Traore is a proven player in the Premier League
The Wolves man is a dangerous blend of strength and speed, which makes him hard to catch and even harder to shrug off the ball. He has raised his output in front of goal to go with his bag of tricks.
The right-footed trickster went on to plunder an impressive 6 goals and 12 assists in 54 appearances across all competitions last season. Wolves finished 7th in the Premier League and made it to the quarter-final of the Europa League.
