Why Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho is the right fit for Manchester United?

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Manchester United have made Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho their top target for this summer.

The 18-year-old Englishman has emerged as one of the most promising young players in European football this term. Jadon Sancho has been in scintillating form for Borussia Dortmund this season, scoring seven goals and making nine assists in 22 Bundesliga games.

The teenager’s exploits in the Bundesliga haven’t gone unnoticed, with Manchester United very keen to bag his signature in the summer transfer window. And although Dortmund have insisted Jadon Sancho is not for sale at any price, the Red Devils should go all out to get the deal for the exciting winger over the line.

Solskjaer is already a highly popular figure with United fans and is doing everything he can to convince the Old Trafford hierarchy that he is the right man to lead the club on a permanent basis after his interim period runs out at the end of this season. Should he get the job on a permanent basis, the Norwegian will have a lot to work on his squad to make United contenders for the title next campaign.

One of the areas Solskjaer needs to address in the summer transfer window is United’s right wing problems. Neither Juan Mata nor Jesse Lingard is an outright winger as they look to drift in at every opportunity, while Anthony Martial is more suited to playing on the left than right.

That’s when the signing of Jadon Sancho would make complete sense as the teenager ticks all the boxes for United. Sancho possesses blistering speed and great acceleration coupled with his exquisite vision and ability to strike the ball beautifully. He utilizes his raw pace, dribbling skills and movement to torment opposition defenders.

The England international is a lively presence on the right flank and can put in delicious crosses in the box for his teammates to feed upon. Sancho could prove unplayable at certain moments when he bursts down the right flank and is also a composed finisher in front of goal, something which certainly belies his age.

Sancho is just 18 and could develop into a world-class footballer, provided he gets the right coaching and guidance. Solskjaer could just be the perfect man to take his game to the next level and hence, United should break the bank for the teenage sensation in the summer.
