Three strikers Crystal Palace can target instead of Chelsea star Tammy Abraham

Crystal Palace needs reinforcements and having sent out Alexander Sorloth on loan, they need another striker to help them battle relegation and survival.  However, Roy Hodgson’s answer to that problem was recalling Jordan Ayew from loan on Swansea City and while the 27-year-old did score against Wolves, he is not the answer.

Now, the Mirror has reported that Palace have entered the race for on-loan Chelsea star Tammy Abraham with the 21-year-old on loan with Aston Villa. However, the Mirror further adds that Palace were also in the race for Dominic Solanke before Bournemouth swooped in but are now open to other options.

#3 Breel Embolo

The 21-year-old has struggled since his move to Schalke 04, scoring just 9 goals since his arrival in the Bundesliga. However, the former FC Basel star has shown that he can score goals, ending his career with the Swiss outfit 31 goals and 22 assists in 90 appearances. That not only shows Breel Embolo’s talents in front of the goal but his creativity as well.

A versatile star, like Wilfried Zaha, Embolo has also adjusted his style of play to use his strength and pace to become a centre-forward in recent seasons. And while that has improved his output, he still struggles at Schalke. While injuries have played a massive role in that with the 21-year-old losing almost a year thanks to an ankle problem, maybe a move could do him good.

#2 Patrik Schick

The 22-year-old has struggled in the Serie A, that’s a sad fact but despite all the promise Schick showed at Sampdoria, his time at Roma has been the exact opposite. Joining AS Roma on loan last season, the Czech Republic star managed only 2 goals in 27 appearances, playing alongside Edin Dezko in Eusebio Di Francesco’s side.

This season has seen Patrik Schick score 2 goals but that’s come in 18 appearances, which is a drastic comparison to his Sampdoria days. In his first and only season with the Serie A side, Schick scored 13 goals in 35 appearances producing five assists as well, but more importantly showcased what made him a valuable centre-forward.

His hold-up play, combined with his strength and agility, made him a valuable assest, something that made Roma make a move for him. Now having made the move permanent over the summer, there is a chance they send him back on loan to gain some confidence, but that’s only if Palace ask.

#1 Wesley

The 22-year-old has been at his best this season for Belgian giants Club Brugge, scoring 10 goals in just 27 appearances producing a further six assists this season alone. While he struggled in the Champions League, Wesley did finish the season with two goals in 6 appearances.

He joined the Belgian outfit in 2016 and has since then made 109 appearances, scoring 31 goals in all competitions. However, what makes him a useful target is the fact that his pace and strength like many others on this list but it’s his ability to give everything and his competitive nature that will help Crystal Palace if they do decide to make a move.

Not to mention his versatility to play as a right winger and an attacking midfielder simply adds to his value and could make him a valuable player for the Eagles.
