Former WWE champion CM Punk shocked the world as he made it to Backstage on Tuesday.
The leader of the ‘Straight Edge Society’ had been away from WWE for almost six years and hasn’t wrestled for any other promotions.
Punk is set to feature regularly on Backstage, though there are no details regarding a return to in-ring action.
The 41-year-old looked in good shape as he made it out to the ring, but one former WWE champion is already eyeing a fight with Punk.
Seth Rollins lost his Universal title to The Fiend Bray Wyatt at Crown Jewel, but the Architect was ready to face Punk.
Rollins made his name in the WWE during his time with The Shield. He then joined Triple H and abandoned his ‘brothers’ before rebelling against the Cerebral Assassin.
A Punk vs Rollins match would be excellent but there could be a long way to go before the 41-year-old returns to in-ring competition.
Punk hasn’t featured in any other promotion since leaving WWE in 2014 but has had a mixed time in the MMA.
Rollins, for his part, has been involved in some of the biggest storylines in recent years.
The Architect will feature in Survivor Series as the captain of Raw’s 5-man side. This is the first time NXT will be involved in the PPV, and the 5-on-5 match includes teams from SmackDown and the third brand.
It will be interesting to see how the match goes as all three brands have invaded each other in recent weeks.
Rollins was in action against Imperium in the latest edition of Raw while Adam Cole and The Undisputed Era have invaded SmackDown recently too.
Survivor Series also sees the women have a 5-on-5 triple threat match with Raw, SmackDown and NXT teams.
There are some tasty clashes too with the three women champions facing off against each other.
Brock Lesnar defends his WWE title against Rey Mysterio while Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles and Roderick Strong also face off in a triple threat clash.
Punk is still one of the best on the mike too, and it will be interesting to see what he does on Backstage in the coming weeks.
