Former F1 driver Alain Prost has weighed in his opinion on what’s next for Hamilton in Formula One. Prost has suggested that the sources close to the Brit have stated that the situation is still unclear, however, they expect him to challenge for an eighth world title. Prost said:
“I have spoken to various individuals since…who have had some contact with him by a large they told me that they expected Lewis to be back to try and win an eighth world title in 2022. What they explained to me though was, even if he seemed to take it well on the night, it hit him very hard in subsequent days, what went on.”
Totto Wolff explains Lewis Hamilton’s silence ever since Abu Dhabi GP
Ever since the controversial ending to the Abu Dhabi GP, Hamilton has stayed to himself. As mentioned earlier, Hamilton’s lack of words over the past month have caused a lot of speculations surrounding his future in F1. Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff recently explained the reason behind the Brit staying quiet. Explaining the same, Wolff said (h/t motorsport total):
鈥淗e was winning the world championship until the last lap, and then everything is taken away from you from one second. Of course, you lose faith because you can鈥檛 understand what has just happened. The silence is there, of course, because he simply lacks words as well.”
