Max Verstappen and his relationship with Red Bull is stronger than contracts claims Christian Horner
Red Bull and Max Verstappen seem to be the perfect match. The 24-year-old won his first world championship at end of the 2021 season and it is safe to say Red Bull prioritize Verstappen over everyone else.
The reports prior to the 2021 season suggested that the Dutch racer could walk away if his car couldn’t challenge for the title.
However, those rumors went away quickly as Verstappen eventually ended the season with the world championship on his hands which further cemented his relationship with the team.
In fact, Red Bull boss Christian Horner believes Verstappen’s relationship goes deeper than just contracts.
During an interview with Speedcafe, Horner claimed:
“Relationships, I think, are not about contracts, it’s exactly about relationships and Max, he came into the team as almost a boy and he’s grown into a young man. And he’s grown with the team. I think the relationship we share, the trust we share in each other, is worth more than any piece of paper. I look forward to racing with Max for many years to come and I believe the best years are very much still to come.”
Max Verstappen set to stay with Red Bull for years to come
Verstappen has grown to one of the best racers in the world with Red Bull. It is safe to say that the Dutch racer will be staying with Red Bull for years to come. Interestingly, Verstappen even claimed that he wanted to stay with Red Bull for years to come.
He said (h/t Planet F1):
“I want to do this with this team for another 10 to 15 years.”
The F1 2022 season begins on the 20th of March, 2022.
