Where to find Fortnite Grapple Gloves
The Grapple Glove can be obtained either by eliminating an opponent with one in their inventory or by finding one of the 10 locations within Fortnite that contain Grapple Gloves. The Grapple Gloves are found in special pink/purple toolboxes under purple/pink Grapple Stops, which resemble cranes. The locations are:
- East of Tilted Towers
- Between the eastern islands above The Jonseses
- East of The Daily Bugle
- Northeast of Condo Canyon
- North of Rocky Reels
- East of Shifty Shafts
- Northwest of Logjam Lumberyard
- Inside Rave Cave
- North of Synapse Station
- Southwest of Greasy Grove
The Grapple Stops contain multiple pink/purple toolboxes, but you can only pick up one Grapple Glove at a time. Despite the limited number of spawns, the multiple locations could be helpful if you find the Grapple Glove while playing with a squad or if an enemy player makes it to a Grapple Stop first. While the pink/purple boxes containing Grapple Gloves are limited in number, they contain ammo loot, so if you’re running low on ammunition, make sure to open them.
How to use Grapple Gloves in Fortnite
Grapple Guns are used in Fortnite by selecting them from your inventory, aiming where you want to swing, and holding down the same input you use to fire weapons. You can line up another shot after swinging to your marked location to continue using them until you run out of ‘ammo’ or reach your destination.
Using the grapple won’t work on every part of the environment, so keep an eye out for the white circle that appears to indicate where it can be used. You can continue swinging even after landing on the ground if you grab something within a few seconds. So don’t worry if you touch the ground while swinging. As long as you are moving, you will keep swinging.
The Grapple Glove is put into a cooldown period when you finish swinging or when laying on the ground for too long. The longer you use the grapple, the longer the cooldown is. Adding another Grapple Glove to your inventory won’t allow you to pick up more ammunition for it.
You only have to drop the one you have to pick up another one. Along with being a helpful tool for traveling long distances on the island, Grapple Gloves can also be used to pick up loot from a distance or in awkward places. No cooldown period exists for this item so you can use it as often as you like.
