The second Grand Slam of the year is finally upon us as qualifiers for the French Open are underway. The two-week-long tournament is held in the capital of France at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris.
The French Open is considered one of the four Grand Slam events along with the Australian Open, US Open and the Wimbledon. The tournament is played on a clay court with several top tennis superstars from all across the world competing in it.
The qualifiers for the French Open began on May 16th and it will sort out the final draw for the Men’s and Women’s events as the qualifying games will end on May 20th. The start of the main round at the French Open this year will be on Sunday, May 22nd. The tournament will conclude on June 5th. There will be a total of 15 categories this year.
The draw for the event will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 6.45 PM local time. Last year, Novak Djokovic won the Men’s title while Barbora Krejcikova clinched her first Grand Slam title in France in 2021.
