The Croatian started his Roland Garros tournament with a win over Attila Balazs before beating another Hungarian in the form of Marton Fucsovics. The 33-year-old then defeated Gilles Simon 6-0, 6-3, 6-2 and managed to upset World No. 2, Daniil Medvedev, in the last 16.

Casper Ruud has carried forward his impressive form into the Roland Garros after winning the Geneva Open. The Norwegian began his French Open journey by beating the spirited Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in four sets. It was then followed by a straight-set victory over Emil Ruusuvuori in the second round. Lorenzo Sonego then became his next victim and Ruud eventually beat Hubert Hurkacz 6-2, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in the last 16.
Meanwhile, Holger Rune knocked out Stefanos Tsitsipas in the round of 16 to book his place in the French Open quarterfinals. The teenager got past Denis Shapovalov in the first round before easing pasy Henri Laaksonen in the second round. The Dane then beat Hugo Gaston in straight sets as well.
Ruud leads the H2H battle 3-0 over Rune. Although Casper Ruud is a specialist on clay, Rune is carrying momentum. Our prediction is a win for Ruud in five sets.
