Here’s a look at the French Open 2022 quarterfinal previews between Andrey Rublev vs Marin Cilic and Casper Ruud vs Holger Rune.
Andrey Rublev has won an incredible 29 out of 36 matches that he has played this season, adding three titles to his name. The Russian began his French Open campaign by beating Kwon Soon-woo in the first round in four sets. He then got past Federico Delbonis, also in four sets. The 24-year-old then came out on top against Cristian Garin in the third round, beating his Chilean opponent 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6(11). Rublev then beat Jannik Sinner in the fourth round after his opponent retired due to a knee injury after being by two sets.
On the other hand, Marin Cilic has managed 17 wins out of 28 matches this season. The Croatian started his Roland Garros tournament with a win over Attila Balazs before beating another Hungarian in the form of Marton Fucsovics. The 33-year-old then defeated Gilles Simon 6-0, 6-3, 6-2 and managed to upset World No. 2, Daniil Medvedev, in the last 16.

Rublev leads the H2H battles 4-2 over Cilic. But given that Cilic has managed to cause an upset, the veteran will be eager to continue his good form. Our prediction is a win in five sets for the Croatian.
Casper Ruud has carried forward his impressive form into the Roland Garros after winning the Geneva Open. The Norwegian began his French Open journey by beating the spirited Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in four sets. It was then followed by a straight-set victory over Emil Ruusuvuori in the second round. Lorenzo Sonego then became his next victim and Ruud eventually beat Hubert Hurkacz 6-2, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in the last 16.
Meanwhile, Holger Rune knocked out Stefanos Tsitsipas in the round of 16 to book his place in the French Open quarterfinals. The teenager got past Denis Shapovalov in the first round before easing pasy Henri Laaksonen in the second round. The Dane then beat Hugo Gaston in straight sets as well.
Ruud leads the H2H battle 3-0 over Rune. Although Casper Ruud is a specialist on clay, Rune is carrying momentum. Our prediction is a win for Ruud in five sets.
