Here’s a look at the preview between Carlos Alcaraz and Albert Ramos-Vinolas for their second-round clash at the French Open 2022.
Teenage sensation Carlos Alcaraz has arrived in Paris following impressive consecutive title wins in Barcelona and Madrid. The Spaniard, who is tipped to go deep in the French Open, began his Roland Garros campaign with a 6-4, 6-2, 6-0 win over lucky loser Juan Ignacio Londero. Although Alcaraz looked a bit sluggish in the opening set, he quickly found his rhythm and Londero was then no match for the 19-year-old.
Meanwhile, Albert Ramos-Vinolas has had quite a difficult start to the clay-court season despite being considered a specialist on this surface. The veteran Spanish star managed to reach the semifinals of the Estoril Open but then failed to win a match in his next three tournaments in Madrid, Rome and Geneva. The 34-year-old faced Thanasi Kokkinakis in the first round of the French Open, and won the opening set quite comfortably but dropped his serve thrice to lose the second set. He eventually clawed his way back to win the match.
